Amora Hotel Wellington, Wellington

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were spacious, well-presented, and clean, but the noise from other rooms was a bit bothersome at times. Having breakfast included in the deal was a nice touch.

I was really impressed with this hotel. The location is fantastic, being near Cuba Street Mall, which allowed me to easily explore Wellington on foot. The rooms were modern and comfortable, though a bit noisy when it was windy. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to assist us. The dining experience exceeded our expectations with a delicious selection of dishes available. I particularly enjoyed the convenience of having an opening window in my club suite.

We decided to book a surprise evening for my husband and me to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary at the hotel. The room on the 5th floor offered good views of the harbor and Te Papa, but the air conditioning unit outside the window was a bit noisy. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating, from the doorman to the cleaners and concierge, going out of their way to assist us with our luggage. The location couldn't be beat, with all major attractions within walking distance, and even offered a great view of the New Year's Eve firework display. However, there was an issue with being overcharged at checkout, which was a bit unsettling. Nevertheless, being close to Oriental Bay for morning exercise and Lambton Quay for a picturesque view of Wellington Harbor made the stay memorable.
